A Look At The Most Dangerous Computer Viruses Of Today

A virus is a computer’s worst nightmare. As a responsible computer user, it is important for you to make sure that your computer does not get any viruses. The world is plagued with these harmful programs which could destroy your beloved unit. Here are some of the top vicious viruses that your computer could get.

The Screen of Death

One of the most recent and worst viruses out there is referred to as the Screen of Death as coined by John Phelan, one of the experts who have seen it. The screen flashes a screen which states that the computer has been supposedly blocked by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In order to unblock it, one must pay $300 dollars. What is scary about this virus is that it even includes in the screen the picture of the computer user which has been taken with the webcam.

Stuxnet

This is also one of the most recent viruses these days. What is scary about its virus is that it could cause physical damage to machinery. In Iran, Stuxnet cause a lot of damage by causing machines to self-destruct. It is different from other viruses whose only goals are to cause virtual damage. Stuxnet is yet one of the most dangerous computer viruses out there believed to have been created in 2009.

Conficker

Conficker is also another dreaded computer virus and it has infiltrated millions of computers in 2009. This virus is capable of retrieving financial data and other important information from the computer it has infected. It spreads very easily and experts have a hard time stopping it. In fact, experts refer to it as the super bug. Experts believe that there are more than three hundred million computers out there who are still prone to having this virus.

FBI Virus

The FBI virus, also known as the FBI Moneypak ransomware virus, has also caused a lot of stir among computer users. The virus locks up the computer that it has infected and claims that the lockup was caused by the US Department of Justice. It requires people to pay via Moneypak so that their computers would be unlocked. But the computer could only be unlocked by simply removing the virus. The FBI has already issued a warning about this scam.

Zeus

Another virus which became infamous since 2007 is Zeus. It is a type of malware and it seeks to retrieve passwords and other pieces of personal information. What is shocking is that cyber criminals have access to this virus as it is available in the black market of the cyber world. It is a good thing that Zeus has been added to the database of most major anti-virus programs.

Getting a virus or a number of viruses is very easy. So if your computer happens to be infiltrated with some viruses, it is important to consider professional help right away.
